ÖKORING USES TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM HERMES

Ökoring works with the WMS Logis from Dataphone Warehouse Management Man with Software and Hardware from Dataphone

Hermes follows LOGIS. Ökoring Handels GmbH, the leading Bavarian wholesaler of organic products, is pushing the modernization of its warehouse in Mammendorf, a town just outside Munich. After introducing the warehouse management system (WMS) LOGIS, Ökoring now also relies on Dataphone’s transport management system (TMS) Hermes. Seamlessly linked to the WMS LOGIS, the two systems allow the control of the entire flow of goods from goods receipt to picking to loading to the delivery to the customer or the pickup from suppliers.

Plan with Hermes. Via the transport management system Hermes console, the dispatcher easily manages every tour. Each tour stop is color-coded to better distinguish between standard stops and alternate stops, which are available for both customer deliveries and supplier pickups. The dispatcher gets real-time information on which stops have already been completed, which are still open and whether a tour did not start for some reason. Not only does the TMS Hermes provide high transparency, but it also allows the dispatcher to react quickly if necessary, and e.g. enter additional stops or send direct messages to the driver.

Scan with Linea Pro. Each truck driver is equipped with an iPhone and receives all necessary tour and customer information on his screen. The tour stops are displayed as a «checklist» which is getting shorter the more tour stops have been completed. With the iPhones and our Linea Pro scan case, the truck drivers have an easy-to-use device at hand and can thus scan and confirm the goods to be transported within seconds on the transport management software.

Hermes supports empties management. For Ökoring, the traceability of the returnable handling (e.g. roll containers, freezer boxes, etc.) is of utmost importance. Therefore, the TMS Hermes incorporates returnable items too and enables the wholesales to track the container balance per customer at all times.

Go-live. Tuesday, January 16: Around 30 truck drivers are ready for their first tour leaving from Mammendorf. Health food shops, farm shops, organic butchers, restaurants, hotels, canteens and kitchens throughout Bavaria and the adjacent areas in Austria and South Tyrol are approached and supplied with fresh organic products.

Facts about the first delivery. 587 customer orders processed / 12'352 items picked / around 1'100 roll containers transported.

CHRISTIAN CAVEGN AG RELIES ON TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM HERMES

Transport Management System works on Mobile

Pallet and empties management made easy.

Christian Cavegn AG is a leading logistics service provider for refrigerated and frozen food with around eight locations throughout Switzerland.

Together with Dataphone, the company has been optimizing its packaging management and supply chain logistics since 2015.

In the past, freight lists and notes were recorded on paper and manually transferred to computer systems. This not only meant a lot of effort but also a high error rate. Today, Christian Cavegn's entire pallet and empties management is managed through our specially developed transport management system  software Hermes.

Overview at any time.

The TMS Hermes ensures consistent transparency: A dashboard constantly displays the current state of freight transportation and, e.g., which routes have already been completed or if there were any issues during loading.

The truck drivers, on the other hand, are equipped with iPhones and the TMS Hermes App which can be used in German, French or Italian. The transport management software guides them through the loading process and structures their routes.

Different colors indicate, for example, which route and delivery follow next. The receipt of the goods is also registered via App: Customers sign electronically on the screen.

The transport management system Hermes ensures transparent and consistent communication from dispatching to the truck drivers and to the customer and thus significantly reduces administrative and logistics costs.

WATCH MANUFACTURER TRACKS PRECIOUS PARTS

Establishing an easier, more transparent and more predictable internal package delivery process.

This is the task a Swiss manufacturer of clockwork components entrusts Dataphone within 2011. No less than 150’000 packages of clockwork materials and assemblies circulate between the different production sites. Back then, the lack of traceability and uncoordinated transportation routes often resulted in package loss and additional costs.

Bye-bye Excel.

In 2011, the manufacturer starts using the TMS Hermes, our modern Track & Trace system. Hermes replaces bulky Excel files, unhandy scanners and the manual recording of shipping data. With this transport management software, orders and tours are now data-driven, electronically plannable, controllable, comprehensible and analysable.

The software comes along with its own printing portal which enables the different sites to print address labels directly themselves - and to label the orders with the accurate sender and recipient (per package or pallet) already in advance to the delivery.

No WLAN needed.

TMS Hermes works in offline mode as well which is especially important for production sites without WLAN coverage.

The manufacturer’s truck drivers benefit from TMS Hermes too: designed for smartphones instead of conventional mobile data acquisition devices (MDAs), the solution is handy and user-friendly.

Due to measurable efficiency gains through Hermes, the manufacturer decides to upgrade to our latest Hermes version in 2015.
